About Greg Kahn (The long)
I am a Clemson University graduate, proud father, live music enthusiast, Richmond, Virginia resident, and a Fanatical Clemson fan.
The inspiration for this company starts with my passion for my alma mater, Clemson.  There is truth to the statement, "there's something in these hills".  Like most that have been fortunate to spend time in Clemson, I fell in love with the people, the campus, the university, the nightlife, and the sports!  Despite the fact that orange is not a good color for my complexion (according to the color palette evaluation conducted by my college girlfriend's mom), I own a lot of things that orange.  My rain jacket is solid orange, I gravitate towards shoes with orange detail, my North Face Hoodie has an orange logo, I own an orange winter hat, my dog Journey's collar is orange, even my Christmas lights are orange (and purple).  Does this sound familiar?  Of course it does.
I'm passionate for music.  I've attended well over 100 live concerts and more than a few music festivals.  Like life, it's the journey of a show or a festival that I love.  It's the planning, it's the anticipation, it's the creativity in the form of art - whether that's the music itself or it's the art that's created for that show/event.  It's knowing that after it's all said and done, we will do it again.   Above all, it's the people aspect I love most. reconnecting with great friends, new and old alike puts a huge smile on my face.
My travels inspired me too.  I was fortunate to spend some time traveling after being liberated from my corporate career of 17 years.  It was a great opportunity to reflect on where I have been and what I want moving forward.  My travels took me to Thailand and Cambodia.  I met many wonderful people on that trip - Other travelers, expats living abroad, and locals.  I was fascinated by the stories of others, and I was energized by the culture and the people.  Of course the art was inspirational… the sculptures and statues are plentiful, the street markets, like the Chatuchak weekend market, seemed to go on for miles, the textiles, and the scale of the stone carvings/temples of Angkor Wat is difficult to capture in a picture or words.
My children are also a source of inspiration.  As a single father, being a part of their life is extremely important.  In the past, my aspirations for career advancement didn't come without sacrifice.  It included travel, at times too much so.  For me, driving 52,000 miles in a year was too much.
I have lived in Richmond since 2007, and find new reasons to like it with each passing day.  Like the great sense of community, the outdoor fun, the history and culture, the food, It's the fact that I almost, ALMOST, never honk my horn, it's the fact that a traffic jam is 5-10 minutes.  It's also the art.  We have incredible artists and a city that welcomes and supports it.
Thank you for taking the time to read about us.   GO TIGERS!
